Civil Service Exam Application: Qualifications
An applicant who intends to take the civil service exam must meet the following requirements:
- Filipino citizen
- 18 years on the date of filing of application
- of good moral character
- have no criminal record or must not have been convicted by final judgment of any offense or crime involving moral turpitude, disgraceful or immoral conduct, dishonesty, examination irregularity, drunkenness, or addiction to drugs
- have not been dishonorably discharged from military service or dismissed for cause from any civilian position
- must not have taken the same exam level within 3 months before the date of next exam
Civil Service Exam Application: Requirements
To support an application, an individual must submit the following requirements:
1. duly-accomplished application form
A copy of the application form may downloaded from csc.gov.ph or secured from CSC Regional and Field Offices. It must be printed on legal size bond paper (8.5 inches x 13 inches).
2. Four (4) identical ID pictures with the following specifications:
- passport size (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm or 1.8 in x 1.4 in)
- colored
- with white background
- taken within the last 3 months
- standard close-up shot (at least 80% of the picture must show the shoulder up to the face and head while the name tag must be positioned at about 1 in or 2.54 cm below the chin)
- without eye glasses or accessories covering the face
- must show both ears
- full face view (applicant must be directly facing the camera)
- with neutral facial expression
- with full and handwritten name tag showing the signature over printed name [First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name, and Extension Name (if any),]
3. Valid Identification Cards (original and photocopy)
- Driver’s License or Temporary Driver’s License or Student Driver’s Permit
- Passport
- PRC License
- SSS ID
- GSIS ID
- Voter’s ID or Certification
- Driver’s License
- BIR/Taxpayer’s ID
- Philhealth ID
- Company ID
- School ID
- Police Clearance or Police Clearance Certificate (with picture)
- Postal ID
- Barangay ID
- NBI Clearance
- Seaman’s Book
- HDMF Transaction ID
- PWD ID
- Solo Parent ID
- Senior Citizen’s ID
- CSC Eligibility Card
- Philippine ID
4. NSO birth certificate (if the applicant’s ID has no birth date)
5. Identification Certificate issued by the Bureau of Immigration (if the applicant is a dual citizen or recognized citizen)
6. Registration fee of PHP500
Civil Service Exam Application: Filing
An applicant must coordinate with the CSC Regional or Field Office at the place where he or she plans to take the test. Be mindful of the filing period and the exam schedule, which are usually posted on the CSC website.
